Meet the Secretariat

Dan Mukhin
Secretary-General

Dan (he/him) is a senior double majoring in Data Science and Financial Engineering from Indianapolis, Indiana. Dan was heavily involved in Model UN in high school and had the opportunity to travel to conferences such as NAIMUN and THIMUN in The Hague next door to the ICJ. After thoroughly enjoying those experiences, he is excited to bring that same vision and energy to life at WUMUNS. This marks Dan’s fourth WUMUNS and his third year serving on Secretariat. Over time, he has watched the conference grow and evolve, and this year is no different. A few fun facts about Dan: he is fluent in Russian, has a strong passion for aviation, and experiences synesthesia. He is incredibly excited to be leading WUMUNS this year and cannot wait to meet you all in St. Louis!

Soumya Bandaru
Chief Operating Officer

Soumya (she/her) is a junior double-majoring in Political Science and Psychological & Brain Sciences, with a concentration in social and personality psychology. She plans to attend law school after graduation! Born and raised in Memphis, TN, she has always loved people-oriented activities, serving as Co-Captain of her high school Debate and Mock Trial Team before getting involved with Model UN her freshman year in college. Soumya previously served as Vice and Head Chair for the WUMUNS XVII Qatari Diplomatic Crisis Committee and later Chief of Staff for WUMUNS XVIII. She is excited to now be serving as Chief Operating Officer for WUMUNS XIX, marking her second year on Secretariat and third year with WUMUNS. Outside of WUMUNS, she loves chatting with friends, going on long walks, and has been playing the violin for over ten years. Soumya can’t wait to see everyone in October!

Susie McGeachy
Chief Financial Officer

Susie (she/her) is a junior double majoring in Philosophy and Political Science from Montgomery, AL. She is also the treasurer for WashU’s travel Model UN team and an editor for the WashU Review of Philosophy. Susie got involved in MUN in high school, and served as the director of the Camelot Crisis Committee in WUMUNS XVIII. She loves historical fiction, Tyler Childers, and deep philosophical discussions at inconvenient hours of the night. Susie is honored to serve as WUMUNS XIX’s Chief Financial Officer, and excited to meet everyone in October!

Morgan Egelston
Chief of Staff

Morgan (she/her) is a sophomore double-majoring in Political Science and Spanish on a pre-law track from the Washington D.C. area. Outside of WUMUNS, she is on the WashU Social Programming Board and the school newspaper crossword team. She enjoys late night study sessions with friends and nightly walks. Morgan became involved in Model UN in college as her high school unfortunately did not have a team, but she was a lawyer on her high school Mock Trial team. After serving as a crisis staffer in the Ad Hoc last year, she is grateful and excited to serve as Chief of Staff for WUMUNS XIX!

Angeli Nguyen

Angeli (she/her) is a sophomore double-majoring in History and Political Science from Boulder, Colorado. She became involved with WUMUNS as a backroom staffer for the Camelot Committee at WUMUNS XVIII. Outside of WUMUNS, Angeli is a writer and artist for the Washington University Political Review, a leader for the Wilderness Project, and a member of Sigma Iota Rho. She loves cats, making Spotify playlists, Clinique Black Honey, editing her Letterboxd top four, and going to Trader Joe’s. Angeli is honored to serve as the USG of Internal Operations for WUMUNS XIX, and she can’t wait to meet everyone in October!

Hana Amirdash
Under-Secretary-General of External Operations

Hana (she/her) is a sophomore double-majoring in Economics & Strategy and Global Studies with a minor in French from Hannibal, MO. She is deeply interested in government, and plans to eventually pursue a career in diplomacy. This passion led her to join Model UN in college, where she worked as a crisis staffer for the WUMUNS Hunger Games committee last October. Beyond Model UN, she is a member of Global Research and Consulting Group (GRC), Delta Sigma Pi (DSP), and the Equestrian Team. She is extremely excited to see everyone again this October!

Quinn Prouty

Quinn (she/her) is a junior double-majoring in Political Science and Economics & Strategy with a minor in Writing on the pre-law track from St. Louis, Missouri. Inspired by competing on her high school’s mock trial team, she became involved in Model UN in college, serving as a USG for Committees last year. On campus, Quinn is also involved in the Chinese Students Association, Kappa Alpha Pi, and volunteering. Outside of academics, she enjoys watercolor paintings, playing sudoku, jazz music, and eating AYCE hotpot with friends. Quinn is honored to serve as the Under-Secretary-General for Communications and is incredibly excited for her third year of WUMUNS!

Anny Qiu

Anny (she/her) is a sophomore majoring in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology on the pre-med track from Brooklyn, New York. She has been involved with Model UN since sophomore year of high school and has attended and helped run various conferences. After serving as Head Chair for WUMUN XVIII’s The 1860 U.S. Senate, she is thrilled to continue on as one of the Under-Secretary General for Committees. Outside of Model UN, she enjoys creative directing for Armour, a fashion magazine, and flower arranging.

James Smith

James (he/him) is a sophomore Arts & Sciences student from Atlanta, Georgia deciding between an English or History major, alongside a Music minor. While he has done Model UN since high school, he first became involved with WUMUNS last October when he chaired the Camelot Succession Crisis committee. Outside of Model UN, James enjoys singing with his A Cappella group, the Washington University Stereotypes, playing Viola in the Symphony Orchestra, and spending time with his friends. He is so excited to help get this conference running and is excited to see y’all in October!

Rishi (he/him) is a junior majoring in Political Science. He enjoys playing the bagpipes, oil painting, and playing chess. After serving as Head Chair of WUMUNS XVIII’s Ad Hoc Committee, he is now serving as Under-Secretary General for Committees.
